Finance Matters is a six week financial literacy course that provides information on debt, savings, budgeting, credit and credit reports, saving and investing, banking, income and taxes, and more. The goal of the program is for participants to increase their financial knowledge and develop the ability to make sound and beneficial financial decisions, both now and in the future. Finance Matters works with youth in the Rogers Achievement Centre, Job Action Centre, Housing Works, and our social enterprises and uses group sessions and one-on-one coaching to assist youth in developing and using a realistic financial plan for themselves. Youth are able to access on-going financial support beyond their enrollment in the program, as well as develop short and long term goals in order become and remain financially stable.
