BottleWorks is a commercial bottle pick-up service for local restaurants, bars, hotels, condominiums and conference facilities. It is a social enterprise that employs at-risk youth age 16 and up for a twelve week period to assist with the bottle collection and administrative work. Employees of BottleWorks, accompanied by a support worker, collect the wine, beer, liquor, and Beau’s bottles and issue a chartable tax receipt to the business. Along with paid employment, BottleWorks provides an opportunity for employees to gain valuable work experience and access to social support.
“Since 1996 Vinhaus winemaking has been helping customers to make their own wine. A taste for quality has always been our motto. Grapes juices and concentrates from around the world are fermented on premises to obtain great wines”
– Paul Parent, owner Vinhaus winemaking.
BottleWorks has formed a partnership with Vinhaus winemaking to sell recycled wine bottles. This program will employ one at risk youth for a 12 week period to sanitize, remove labels, and package the bottles. The clean bottles will be sold to Vinhaus customers at a lesser price than new bottles. For information regarding this program, please contact Bobbi. For more information about Vinhaus winemaking please visit their website www.vinhaus.ca
BottleWorks is always seeking new establishments that are interested in donating their bottles to the business. In addition, individuals can drop off their liquor, wine, beer and Beau’s bottles to our drop-off depot at 150 Gloucester St. Please see Operation Come Home’s hours for drop-off times.
