Good news was delivered to 13 local charities and announced on Thursday, September 7th at the RBC DS Golf Tournament. Andrew Frank, Branch Manager, RBC Dominion Securities worked with the RBC Foundation to ensure these charities wouldn’t have to cut programming when BAO announced early in 2017 that its 21st event was postponed due to the number of culinary events scheduled to support Canada’s 150th.
Paul Higgins, Vice President & Branch Manager commented “Even though Bon Appetit Ottawa could not take place this year, we think the important community services supported by the proceeds of the event shouldn’t be suspended.”
Phil Waserman, Chair and one of the founding restaurateurs of Bon Appetit Ottawa responded with delight, “RBC DS WM is a tremendous partner of Bon Appetit Ottawa, and it is evident how much the Ottawa Branch understands and supports the community in which it operates.”
The Bon Appetit Ottawa Board will meet in September to lay out plans for the 2018 event to be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
