BottleWorks is a free commercial and residential bottle pick up service, that collects over half a million refundable alcohol containers each year. BottleWorks receives empties from restaurants, bars, hotels, condos, and residents across the Ottawa area. Revenue generated by the social enterprise goes towards paid rotation-based employment for young adults facing barriers to employment, vocational skills development, and social supports. 100% of profits go towards other Operation Come Home programing.
Participants are paired with a youth support worker who work together on the truck each day. Youth are offered support in building their resumes, finding future employment, and work to overcome other obstacles that they may be facing.
