The Housing Support Program is specifically for youth ages 16 and 17 who have current involvement with the Children’s Aid Society (CAS), past CAS involvement or who are eligible for CAS supports and services that are not currently involved with CAS. In order to qualify for this program, youth ages 16 & 17 must consent to a voluntary youth support agreement (VYSA).

The Housing Support Worker assists client’s in acquiring stable housing. Intensive housing supports are offered for up to one year. These supports include the following: housing search; identification, accompanying youth to viewings, support in filling out housing related documents, etc. 

The Housing Support Worker is also responsible for ensuring that youth receive support in the following areas: 

  • Education
  • Employment 
  • Mental Health 
  • Substance Use
  • Life Skills
  • Financial Literacy 
  • And any other area that support housing retention
